MIA Retired With A Bang At Bonnaroo
Bonnaroo may have brought some “firsts” for many, but for rapper Maya Arulpragasam, aka M.I.A, it was her last.
M.I.A recently canceled her upcoming European tour and told the Bonnaroo crowd during her Saturday afternoon show, “her last gig”, not once but three times.
“This is my last show, and I’m glad I’m spending it with all my hippies. Thanks for coming to my last gig.”
Then she left the stage with a roar fit for Metallica that lasted long after she was gone. The performance was all the buzz throughout the campgrounds, described as one of the most high-intensity, electrifying parties of the festival. She brought “girls” and “boys” on stage to jam with her, dancing from start to finish. For her encore, she incorporated Nigerian rapper African Boy and ended with “Paper Planes” that got everyone under the tent and beyond pumping their fists in the air to the sounds of her gunshot hooks.
When she walked off stage, there was an undeniable knowing amongst everyone in attendance they had just witnessed something truly amazing that possibly no one will ever get to experience again.
M.I.A. announced her engagement to The Exit singe/guitarist Benjamin Brewer, son to Warner Music Group CEO and chairman Edgar Bronfman Jr., at her Edmonton show just a few weeks ago.
We all hope this retirement is just a momentary lapse of judgment…

Air Yeezy!!
No, this is not a joke. Nike is releasing a shoe for the Grammy Award winning mega-star, Kanye Omari West, simply called...Air Yeezy. This is an add for the shoe due to be released in the near future. Unfortunately they are not the ones that he wore in his "Glow in the Dark" Tour in which the shoe actually glowed in the dark. Either way, as long as they have them in a size 14 or 15 i'm good to go...Yezzir!

Ryan Leslie
Ryan Leslie grew up all over the western United States moving frequently as his parents were ministers in the Salvation Army. While attending public school in Stockton, California at age 14 he found out his parents were moving once again. Rather than having to attend a fifth school, he decided to finish his junior year and then enroll in college. Leslie attended Harvard University in the fall of 1994 at 15 years old and graduated at the age of 19 with a degree in Government and Economics. He now lives in Harlem, New York.
Leslie's production history spans several contemporary music genres, including Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall, Pop, and gospel. Production credits include Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Cassie, JoJo, Nina Sky, Danity Kane, Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Donell Jones, Katharine McPhee, New Edition, One Chance, B5, Cheri Dennis, Latif, Megan Rochell and M. Pokora.
He is currently writing songs for singer/songwriter Usher.
Ryan Leslie signed a recording contract with Universal Records when he was an unknown artist looking for his big break. In 2005, he began recording his debut album entitled Just Right. He released two singles off the album, "The Way That U Move Girl" and "Used 2 Be" featuring rapper Fabolous but the songs did not chart. However, due to the singles performing poorly in the US, the album was shelved for the US market and released as a promo, and in Europe the album was released on November 1, 2005.
Leslie returned to the studio in 2007, to begin recording his sophomore album. He recorded the song "Diamond Girl" which will be released as his first mainstream single on May 2008. The video became available on April 16, 2008 on the Universal Music Group Youtube Channel. His self-titled debut album will be released in August 2008, the date has been shifted to create some buzz over his new single Addiction (featuring Cassie). In February 2008, G-Unit released the song "Bottom Girl" a remix of the original. In November 2007, he released a video for a song named "I-R-I-N-A". Whether the song will appear on the album cannot be confirmed.
