I Just Think This is Funny

Savannah Trees...Notice the Fuzz

I was leaving the gym yesterday and I remembered that my mom said that she liked savannah because of these weird trees. When she was a child, they used to be all over the south. According to her, they can only be found in Savannah. I decided to pull out my camera and take a picture of one to remind me that I need to set up a large format piece for her. I think she'll like it.

UN-Human Nature

So, Madonna is releasing a "best of" album very soon and it has ALL of her hits except human nature. How can you not have human nature?! I would have bought it if it had human nature. Oh yea, did you know that DJ Premier of Gang Starr produced this one? KNOWLEDGE. Enjoy the video

Today's Negatives

Today, I developed some large format shots that I did. My professor here is great and TOTALLY different from my last one (Turk). She makes things alot easier for us and understands that large format is a process...a 20 min process actually. I like the look of large format, but I hate the tedious work that's involved. So here is one of the negatives that I developed the other day. I'm determined to maser this.

Sorry, Calvin. I Had to Steal This...HILARIOUS!

The Challenge is On!

I already have a few Ideas

Rating: WORST!

If you are ever in Pooler, Georgia and get a taste for some shitty chinese food, go to Peking Gourmet on Continental Blvd. If you like good chinese food that won't have you dropping bombs over Baghdad all night DO NOT EAT AT PEKING GOURMET in Pooler, Georgia. Pooler is a very small town, like, so small that when you step outside you hear the theme song for "In the Heat of the Night." There is nothing but fast food restaurants and shady eateries here and I wanted sesame chicken. I should have known that the food would be bad when the cook was playing cards with her daughter. Also, there was no sanitation grade hung. I didn't care , though. I took a risk and failed. This was literally not only the worst sesame chicken that I've ever had, but the worst Chinese food, PERIOD! STAY AWAY FROM PEKING GOURMET IN POOLER, GA!

Strictly Business is On!

I'm insanely bored today, and nothing has been on tv all day. FINALLY, once 8 hits, TvONE decides to play a hood CLASSIC...Strictly business...VHS action. This movie is proof that you can go from working in the mailroom in a fortune 500 company to an executive overnight. All you have to do is hook one of the firm's partners up with Halle Berry. Simple! Time to relax and enjoy!

Beverages of Hip-Hop...Ahhhh!

OH MY GOD!!

Whatever this is, just try to imagine it walking towards you. What would you have done?

Free on iTunes

This was free on itunes this week. I really like this song.

Raekwon Signs Original Purple Tape

Ok, so here is the story. 14 years ago Raekwon (Wu-Tang Clan) releases his first solo album "Only Built For Cuban Linx." Hands down, it's one of my favorite albums. SO, this month Rae release his latest 22 track sequal, "Only Built For Cuban Linx II." Now, Raekwon had a signing set up and a guy had an original cassette tape of Raekwons first album. That's insane! I have the cd and that's even chewed up...thank God for mp3s!

Love These New Cups!

Random Savannah Shots

Just some random shots I took on the way back from the Bursar's office.

I Couldn't Make This Up!

So after my first day in Savannah, I didn't really like it. It just felt too "southern" to me. It's definitely a downgrade from Atlanta, but after talking to my mother and Franki, I decided to take a personal tour of the area. It's not as bad as I thought it was. I found one shoe store and they had a nice Jordan selection, but NO DUNKS, actually, NO SB'. Not Good. There are alot of restaurants and hotels, so it makes me feel like Savannah is strictly for visiting and not living. The people are nice. I was walking around and this lady stopped me and asked me if I just moved here. I told her I did and she asked me if I love "Back to the Future." I said I did and she told me where to find the delorean from the movie. I thanked her and gave her my name. She gave me hers and said she would facebook me (I have no idea why). Oh yea, one of my classmates said that there are alot of bums in Savannah, maybe I haven't been looking hard enough, but I swear I ran into only 4 and they all said hello and asked for nothing! I really don't see the violence in Savannah that everyone talks about. To be continued...

Wu-TANG WEDNESDAY!!!!...Goodbye Summer!

So, I've decided to post The Rza's "La Rumba" video to say goodbye to summer. It was fun...and HOT!

And You Thought This Was Photoshop'd?

So I'm sure all of you bought Jay-Z's new album, The Blueprint 3, The bars were actually painted on! The artist has done several pieces, including a warehouse in Durham, NC. This is a great talent...and you thought this was photoshop. smh

Home Away From Home

So, I'm living in a hotel right now in Savannah, GA until I find an apartment. I have to tell you...I'd rather be in Atlanta right now. I'll probably move back after this semester, but we'll see. NAH! I'm definitely moving back to Atlanta after this semester. Oh yea, the hotel has a continental breakfast every morning! Gotta love that!

Dope Ads!

These photos are old, but I had to put them up. I was at Franki's house and I was reading InStyle Magazine that her sister left (it was actually something Franki bought her to make up for her dog biting her. Sorry Sabrina.) Anyway, I was looking at the ads in there and saw some great fashion photography. Definitely something to think about. I don't know who shot these, yet, but I will find out.

Knowledge For Your Motherpluckin' Mind!

The history of the middle finger

The History of the Middle Finger
Well, now......here's something I never knew before, and now that I know it, I feel compelled to send it on to my more intelligent friends in the hope that they, too, will feel edified. Isn't history more fun when you know something about it?
Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in the future. This famous English longbow was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the longbow was known as 'plucking the yew' (or 'pluck yew').
Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, See, we can still pluck yew! Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative F', and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute! It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as 'giving the bird.'

And yew thought yew knew every plucking thing

Alexander McQueen Skull and Bee Ring

Call me crazy, but I actually like this ring. Nowadays, I think that accessories should be just as important for men. Inexpensive clothes and expensive shoes and accessories...that's the ticket!
